Producing recordings for business use

APRA|AMCOS offers licences for businesses that supply audio recordings and music videos, specifically for a business application. For example: background music, syndicated radio programmes, aerobic classes, jukeboxes (including karaoke services) or inflight music.

The licence covers the reproduction of musical works controlled by AMCOS, provided the recordings are not sold directly to the public.

If you also reproduce a sound recording of the song, you will need to obtain a further licence from the copyright owner in the sound recording. This is usually a record company. For further information on the licensing of sound recordings, contact Phonographic Performances New Zealand (PPNZ).

Businesses that use new technologies to deliver music content to licensees may also require an APRA communication licence. In these instances APRA|AMCOS can offer a complete licensing solution in the single agreement.
