Code of Conduct for Collecting Societies
APRA and AMCOS subscribe to a Code of Conduct for copyright collecting societies. The Code formalises our commitment to treat all members and licensees fairly, honestly, impartially and courteously and be transparent in dealings with members. Our adherence to the Code is reviewed once each year by an independent reviewer.
The Code itself is reviewed every three years, with input invited from the relevant interest groups. The Code provides for members and licensees to be able to make submissions directly to the code reviewer, former Federal Court judge, Mr James Burchett QC, concerning a collecting society’s compliance with the Code.
